Youths learning about finance at young age will cement the values of economic stability for our nation in the years to come. The Museum of American Finance (MoAF) develops teenagers into young adults with a knowledge about the business world. These individuals network in the museum, building connections and abilities that foster a mentality for smart investments.
Mohammad Islam, an exceptional student from Stuyvesant High School who attended the Museum's Finance Academy, possesses an extensive knowledge of the financial world and speaks about the importance of financial literacy. MoAF provides a common ground for those yearning for an education in economics by teaching them about the multi-faceted community of finance. MoAF not only provides a center for education, it's a method for financially attuned youths to gather.
“When people think of museums, they think of the big ones but there are still the small ones and different ones too. This one is a unique museum because you can learn something in a class setting there and making use of their resources.”
Miranda Tran, Stuyvesant High School
“The classes are a way for us to engage the public in a unique and special way, to try and make the Museum more meaningful...Our target audience is anyone who has a question, anybody that wants to understand how financial products work, anybody that wants to understand how money plays a role in their lives, anybody that wants to understand or ask questions and have them answered honestly.”
Chris Meyers, Director of Education at MoAF
